Japanese Zelkova

A watercolor illustration of a tree called Japanese Zelkova, for my botanical drawing class last year. The assignment was to portray the tree throughout the year.
Fun fact: The Elm look-alike Zelkova-native to Asia- was planted all around Europe and North America because it has a high resistance to Dutch Elm Disease.
